The man behind Bon Appetit

Keith Pordum is the CEO of Bon Appetit, which is based in Crawley, West Sussex. He has been in the food business since 1995, following a successful career in business banking and management consultancy. It was his ‘home delivery’ business of gourmet food, called Spencers, which gave him the idea for Bon Appetit. Spencers’ clients, of which there are 30,000 in the Home Counties, were regularly asking whether a similar quality of food could be supplied into the workplace. This led to the development of Bon Appetit’s ‘Little Tasty Food Outlet’. The rest, as they say, is history, as Bon Appetit has quickly developed into the leading provider within the UK of hot food vending.

With his wealth of business experience, Keith is very active in his local business community, and in June 2008 was appointed Chairman of Cadia, which is the Gatwick Diamond Business Association. Cadia has over 500 members, and has the mission of promoting business growth in the key economic area of the Gatwick Diamond, which is the area bordered by Reigate to Brighton and Horsham to East Grinstead. His appointment is for a two year term, and apart from ensuring that Cadia satisfies the interests of its members, which are focused on networking, lobbying and developing skills, he will be promoting the interests of local charities within the business community, as he believes strongly in the duty of business to give back to the wider community.

The Business

Bon Appetit launched the ‘Little Tasty Food Outlet’ at AVEX 2005, and won the award for most popular small stand at the exhibition.

This successful launch followed two years of research and development after identifying a gap in the ‘workplace consumption’ market for a low cost, high quality, 24/7, hot food vending service.

By combining Bon Appetit’s unique food products and the latest in vending technology, we offer a healthy, cost effective, 24/7 virtual restaurant experience. Our solution satisfies the key trends and needs of this semi-captive audience, primarily the need for healthy, quality food, available anytime, which you can simply heat and eat in minutes.

The hot food vending service is ideal for businesses that:

  1. do not currently offer their staff an on-site hot food service

  2. want to reduce their catering costs

  3. need a low cost ‘out of hours’ or 24/7 service

National Reach

Although Bon Appetit is based in Crawley, West Sussex, we are able to offer a national service. So wherever your business is located within mainland UK we can provide you with the service you need.

We can provide this ourselves, or through one of our vending operator or contract caterer partners.
